Community Impact

separator line

Your community impact or focused care donations are invested each year to effective local programs. By supporting specific programs through a competitive process, United Way has a means of monitoring the success and impact of your donations. Panels of volunteers from the community receive the program funding applications from United Way member agencies and meet as a panel with agency representatives to ask questions, and then decide, as a group, how much money (if any) to invest in each program. Separate panels represent each of the five priority areas. The amount of money available for the panels to allocate depends upon the amount of undesignated funds or Community Impact dollars raised during the campaign. To volunteer to serve on a Community Investment panel, check the box "I would like to become more involved" on the pledge form.

Community impact contributions pledged during the 2008-09 Campaign totaled $260,796 and were invested this year in the following worthwhile programs:

Basic Needs

Domestic Violence & Addiction Services

Youth Programs

Health Care Programs

Elderly Citizens and Adults with Disabilities
